To use vinegar on porcelain or ceramic mix four parts water with one part white vinegar. Apply a commercial tile cleaner to the glass tile if the previous methods fail. Wash the tiles again with plain water to remove any remaining vinegar. Let the floor dry.

Moisten a few tiles with the sponge and warm water. Scrub the tiles with the nylon scrubbing pad. The tiles themselves may come clean easily but grout lines on your backsplash tend to need a little more scrubbing. Protect your hands with rubber gloves and dip your cheesecloth or terry cloth in water.

Clean the sponge frequently as you work and replace the rinse water as it gets dirty. Spraying vinegar or lemon juice on the grout and letting it sit for 10 minutes before scrubbing can also help remove grease and food marks. Wipe the tiles using a soft cloth dipped in the vinegar mixture. Dry and buff the tiles with a dry.

Repeat the same process to scrub and rinse each small section of the floor until the entire tile installation is clean. Remove grout haze with water and cheesecloth. Scrub the haze gently with a nylon scrubbing pad letting the cleaner do most of the work. Rinse off the tile cleaner.

You can add more vinegar to make the mixture stronger if needed.
