Light will be medium high.
Hc carpet emersed.
This video is of my little h.
Imo it s all about lighting and co2.
This light level is probably excessive.
But it does demonstrate that high light no co2 doesn t always translate into an automatic algae fest that is if the plants are growing well.
Its also known as pearl weed.
I have grown hc emersed and submersed it it loses some of its leaves but doesn t take forever to grow back.
Cuba has smaller leaves and a bit narrower.
It s almost tempted me to start a palaudarium.
Growing hc also need luck some can grow it without cold water but some with cold water also cannot make them flourish.
As for hc you will need high light and lower temp so that it will grow better.
However i think the initial 1 month of being established when emersed helped a lot and prevented algae issues with the hairgrass.
17 days from planting three small 4x4cm pots of hc.
The emersed part will be misted and fogged regularly in the paludarium.
Sometimes you can see the tiny white flowers in the axils.
All fine in about a week or 2.
Majority in the trade or aquaria market sells cuba in the emersed form and it has roundish leaves.
The carpet of glossostigma in the picture below is grown using 150w metal halides hung 2 feet above the tank.
Will hemianthus callitrichoides require co2 to carpet if a part of it is emersed.
Just started my hc carpet 1 5week ago going to complete the emerse to submerge stage.
I don t think emersed growth works as well for hairgrass in terms of getting a very thick coverage like with hc.
Another two weeks and i expect it will be covered.
In the submersed form it looks almost same as an emersed form with cushion like growth or low carpet.
With excel and ample lighting the hairgrass was spreading much much faster and denser on submersion.
Mosses in particular have very different emersed structures and can be quite cool looking.
Hey all the title says it all.
