Floor Window Sizes

The window size notation is the combined width and height.

One window panel will remain stationary at all times. Standard sliding window widths are 36 48 60 72 and 84. A wide variety of window sizes with both fixed and operable shapes including custom capabilities to fit most any project. Single hung window sizes come in 24 inch by 36 inch 24 inch by 46 inch 28 inch by 54 inch 28 inch by 66 inch 28 inch by 70 inch 34 inch by 46 inch or 34 inch by 62 inch.

Window wells serving an egress window shall not be less than 9 square feet in area with a horizontal length width of no less than 36 inches. Window wells greater than 44 inches in depth requires a permanently fixed ladder or steps to provide access. For example all windows are first fit by the horizontal width then their height. Maximum 44 inches to window sill measured from finished floor.

If you need a size beyond the maximum and minimum sizes shown in the chart below please contact your local pella representative to discuss additional options. A 2426 replacement window has a width of 2 feet 4 inches and a height of 2 feet 6 inches. A side note to these measurements is that a manufacturer adds a half inch to these measurements giving them plenty of room for installation. Most homes are fitted with single hung or double hung bedroom windows.

Pella windows are available in a wide range of standard and custom sizes. A standard window size for a bedroom window depends what type of window you have installed or are needing replaced in your bedroom. Single hung window sizes other than those listed would be considered specialty or custom sizes.
